hey i didnt know where else to ask so i came here because of the good advice ive received in several ocassions, so i want to buy a GPS for my car, i dont want to replace the stereo or anything, i want to mount it in the dashboard, i have around 400 usd, since it would be the 1st gps i buy i have no experience with them, which would be a good one?, some features im looking into is touch screen, voice system, real time traffic, can you guys help me? thanks

As far as brand I would get a garmin, they definetely have the easiest user interface which is completely idiot proof. Not to mention it works pretty well too. I have the garmin nuvi 200 which is pretty close to bottom of the line and it still works great. Bought it for 150 bucks which was a good deal a few years ago.
This one here is not a bad deal actually, it has text-to-speech so it actually reads you the road names and stuff

I have the Garmin nüvi® 250W (European version), and I like it a lot.
It is very easy to use, and contrary to other GPS I had, it allows me to search for street names in a whole country, instead of having to specify a district/county whatever you call it.
However it does not have TMC, which I guess is what you mean by "real time traffic"? For that you need to buy a more advanced model.

Go with any of these GPS's from Dell and get an extended coverage plan. Reason I say this is because many of the GPS's have a tendency to have the touchscreen die. (Myself and friends have all had to return a few to the manufactures) Which usually takes a few weeks and $$$. But with Dell, as long as you get the extended plan.

I would prefer going in somewhere like Bestbuy or target and picking one up there, here's some selections from Target. If you go into target it and get them, we sell a 3 year service plan (Go to guest services) where if it breaks outside of the manufacture warranty, and it's not because of YOU (drop it in water, etc) we'll give you a new one.Comment
