    Laptop not responding...

Well i have set up all the computer in my house to fold...i then got my network working again but my laptop wont work correctly. The laptop shows up in the work group computers section with all the other computers but when i try to access it, it just times out and gives me an error about how i should contact the system admin and that i don't have permission to access it.

On the laptop itself i have the files shared exactly the same as on any other and the laptop is in the same workgroup...so what is wrong ?

Is there something on the laptop i need to do ?

    Cheers
    Alan

I guess despite the problem you have in MS network (or SAMBA for linuxers), the laptop works otherwise well. This could be a problem from IT department of your company.

The laptop senses that you're a chav.

No, seriously, I'd run the Network wizard a few times, the Wireless Network wizard along with all the other damned wizards a few times to make sure all the settings are enabled.

Have you got a firewall blocking it, perhaps?

noe ? Come on sponge, I've taught you better than that !

Uninstall Folding@Home. Uninstall every possible firewall, as well as disable the MS one. Test. If that works, keep turning on stuff sequentially and troubleshoot along the way.
