From the OP, I'm guessing it's going to be used as a folding desktop rather than a mobile PC, so portability probably isn't an issue, and a larger screensize would therefore be preferable.Comment

Ya, I don't think she's gonna be taking it on the train or a bus... she just wants a laptop so she can easily move it from say the kitchen to the living room, or go outside and type in the sunshine...Comment

17in are often cheaper. Have a look at www.dell.co.uk/outlet for some bargains. Alternatively, do you go to Ashford ever? if so, go to the designer outlet place there because there's a Toshi outlet which has some good deals from time to time (Although their laptops are a bit flimsy).Comment
