Thanks for your recommendations guys, but can someone highlight the difference between the P5Q-E and the P5Q-Deluxe? Maybe it's just me, but I don't see a difference in their specs.

Usually more USB slots, more heatsink, better overclocking options, different board layout, more SATA plugs.

It's basically better suited to those with higher end computers as opposed to an average user.

Is that it? So there's no real performance difference if you don't overclock?

What The P5Q, despite it's unusal power connector position is appealing to me since it has only one PCI-Express 2 slot, and thus doesn't hog other slots' spaces and allows for 3 pci devices.

Crossfire on P45 is not recommended. P45 is "performance" chipset of Intel, while X48 is "extreme" version. The difference? Like 3dmark Vantage, P is for practical gaming, while X is for enthusiasts who want bigger e-peen. Why need two PCI-e 2.0 slot when it works as two x8 slots in CF? It doesn't make sense to me. I'd go with P5Q with OCTC than $300 mobo with SLI/CF (OCTC or TSCC). Otherwise, X38 is still good and just a bit more expensive.

OCTC: one card, two chips
TSCC: two single-chip cards
