I was installing a new theme from Deviantart

I think i tried installing the LSPatch thing and it did something stupid cause i cant use my computer!! It loads fine with the welcome screen and everything then it just shows my wallpaper and nothing else.
I tried a system restore in safe mode but its still the same.
I know this thread is abit vague but i have no idea what i did

Is there anything i can do?

When you are on your wallpaper press ctrl + alt + delete and open task manager

press file > new task and type in explorer.exe and press enter

Windows cannot find 'explorer.exe' Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again. To search for a file, click the Start button and then click Search.

Sounds like its time to reformat. You could try booting from a windows disk and trying to repair the OS. Other than that you might be pretty much screwed.

I bought my computer prebuilt so it only came with a tower and Windows preloaded onto it.
I dont think e-machines would give me a disk as its about 2 years old?

Time to get some money together.

if its a prebuilt computer and you have the certificate of authenticity on it with your serial number, you can get a disk (maybe from a friend or download yourself on a different pc) and use the serial you have on your computer.
sounds like the theme has tried to overwrite the explorer.exe file and has made a hash of it, and it got lost or deleted.
only other way i can think of is using explorer.exe from another computer and transfering manually through a boot disk.

Search for c:\I386 on your hard drive. The folder contains windows install/recover files.

I think i can get a Windows Professional Disc, but the COA says Media Center, does that matter?
I just need to put in the Code when it asks me to register?

Later on contact emachines and request that they send you the operating system disc. Normally they will send it to you apon request.

Yes, if you want the OS disk, you must ring the retailer up. They will send it to you upon request.
