    Crashing

Keep crashing about 20 seconds into game with this error:

Faulting application iw3mp.exe, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x4859a219, faulting module pbcl.dll, version 0.0.0.0, time stamp 0x48699adf, exception code 0xc0000005, fault offset 0x00026dc5, process id 0x16a0, application start time 0x01c8dc156f560f38.

    Anyone know how to fix?

          Reinstalled, still does it.
Trying to update PB - if that don't work will do a system restore.

            Re: Crashing

theres a few things that can cause this. strange as it may seem , it could be caused by the onboard sound driver. try disabling or rremoving it and trying your game again. also heard crossfire causing some issues. try and give me more info as to your setup specially are you running xp or vista, what gfx card and sound u use

                  Re: Crashing

just to mention for anyone else having this trouble, its caused by the sound drivers for on board sound with vista. to fix remove the sound card from device manager and restart computer, vista will then install its own drivers and it all should work.

                        Re: Crashing

PDoc: I am having same problem under XP 200 SP2. Is same fix appropriate to XP, or is that for Vista only.

FYI, here is error from my Event Viewer: Faulting application bf1942.exe, version 0.0.0.0, faulting module pbcl.dll, version 0.0.0.0, fault address 0x00063eff.

(I downloaded and ran PBSetup today, but that did not fix).

Here is what Device Manager has under Sound, Video, and Game Controllers:
                        Audio Codecs
                        Legacy Audio Drivers
                        Legacy Video Capture Devices
                        Media Control Devices
                        SigmaTel High Definition Audio CODEC
                        Video Codecs

Am not sure which one to disable, nor how to disable it.

Please advise. I love BF42, but my old machine died, and cannot yet play it on-line on new XP maching.
