    speakers and headphones.

    hey guys..

    hows it going?

    alright on with it now...

im not looking for just gaming speakers and headphones
im looking for some really good stuff..

i dont wana buy no crap speakers or headphones for my setup..
i want 5.1 headphones and i was in hopes for a great 7.1 system for my pc but no go..so..

please...no usb stuff..i want the direct connect with the mutipule jacks in the back for hook up the regular 2.6mm jack or whatever it is ..im not fond of the usb style stuff...

if u can find 7.1 that is good that would be awsome as well...im not 5.1 will suffice i think..

this is what i got so far..and its not looking too great..

there are a few, However i see no need for 7.1 on a computer setup. A good 5.1 set like the Z5500's will blow you away!

I bought the Logitech Z-2300, which is fantastic for a 2.1 speaker system I was seriously happy with the sound, the bass is plentiful and the volume will never be too little for you I can assure you.

As for headsets I've had several over the years, crappy unbranded ones are crappy. I had the Logitech Precision Gaming Headset which kept your ears cool which is nice when your playing for long periods, it wasn't too uncomfortable but broke after about 9 months.

Also bought the eDimensional FX Pro 5.1 this broke fairly quickly, the mic broke, one of the speakers broke and the vibration broke. Plus it's USB and was pretty expensive so defiantly don't go for that.

I haven't really found the perfect headset yet, if it exists.

Also I think Alex bought some Medusa's and IIRC hated them.

Audiophiles are people who can tell the difference between 128kbps MP3s and 192kbps MP3s.

Here's their headphone recommendation thread. They also say that 5.1 headphones are a waste of money since it probably uses directional virtualizaiton (or whatever the thing's called) anyway.

It depends on how much you want to spend. You could easily spend $5000 on a "good" setup; it all depends on what your actual experience/viewpoint is on sound. I personally am on the verge of buying these, I just need to determine whether they'd need an amp so I could get the absolute most out of them.

For speakers I have no idea, but I've heard the Z-5500s and they blew me away. Apparently they aren't very good from an "audiophiles" point of view, but if you want a set of "audiophile" speakers be prepared to pay well in excess of a grand.
