        I agree with pennywise, NOD32 is the shizzle!!!
        and i use free version of superantispyware to get rid of other stuff...
        And my fav tool of all gotta be hijackthis.
        Download it, run it, copy pasta into http://www.hijackthis.de/
        analyze and youll see everything nasty that running on ur pc...
        dont worry its not in german.

          To repeat myself and as stated above ESET (NOD) is the best i have used, but there has been a few issues with home networks.

          I would be interested to know if anyone else has had issues with them. Pennywise seems to have been ok... do you run connection sharing rather than a routing? tried LAN gaming over the netowork? connecting an xbox through a PC?
