not sure about ur second question yeti, but i can throw in my 2 cents for the first one.

i found that with my current phones (dt770), i get a lot more detail. detail as in specific instrumentation. i can hear harmonies or countermelodies a lot more clearly. it's nice when i'm trying to figure out how to play a certain song by ear.

i got sennheiser hd555 but they are expensive

Due to parents of a short stature (Can you get/do/thread this for meeee?) and the A700s being SOLD OUT FFS, I have gotten the Sennheiser HD555s instead as per the Head-Fi forum recommendations.

I got the HD202's.

From what I've read, everyone whose gotten them love em, good sound and comfortable.

And what I'm looking at is how expensive, and they're only like $25, and I wasn't about to spend $150 on headphones...
