you will not need 8 gig of ram it will just be used for addres space

also core 2 quad at 2.4 for games you will only ever use 2 cores unless you do alot of multi tasking and i mean a lot )

personly i use core 2 duo |E6850 same price as quad 6600 but has 1333 fsb and 3.0 ghz standard clockable but doesnt need it ( only big difference is that the quad l2 cache is 4 mb bigger but is split into 2x4x2.

no dountr there will be multy core processors upto 8 16 and so on because they know you will buy it (my advice is get wht you need to do what you want !

Don't talk **** please, Intel have been on top for the past 18 months and that shows no sign of changing. If you want to save a LOT of money but have little if any upgrade possibilities, certainly, go with AMD. If you want the best value for money and plenty of upgrade potential, go with Intel, like 75% of people building/buying new PCs out there today who know what they're on about.

Anyway, if you're looking at the Q9300 then that's YET ANOTHER kettle of fish. The newer quad cores are even more efficient than the older ones, and if you can pick one up relatively cheap then certainly go for it.

The nVidia 9-series run on the same chip as the 8800GT 512MB, 8800GT 256MB and the 8800GTS 512MB.

Dude... just add me to xfire again or something. Posting on forums for any kind of buying advice normally ends up just being a terrible idea, since everyone uses their own experiences as advice for "the best buys" and tends to confuse the **** out of everyone without the appropriate knowledge*.

For the record, I went with a dual-core, but I wish to **** I had've just spent the extra 40 quid and got a quad-core, so I could just overclock the balls off it 6 months from now so that it'd do me for another year+.



*I don't claim to have the worlds most awesome tech knowledge, but I know for a fact that what some people are claiming here is complete turd. I also read a shitload of techy forums and websites, so if anyone wants to challenge what I say I'll present you with a face full of references.

lol mate i just gave advice he's not abligated to follow it
my experiance whit amd is mutch better then wiht intel
amd is preforming a lot better in my eyes so it's my opinion CAN I HAVE THAT+???
