PB crap

basically, i get the error..pb violiation (ignoring queries) #9006

looking through forums etc..ppl seem to have fixed it by updating PB....

ive tried numerous times, and i updated..then i updated again (2.7 - 3.0) and it goes 3/4s of thw way up and then says: restarting pb setup.

So it restarts and then i click update and it says all availiable updates installed.

play cod4, get the same message or else visit evenbalance // update PB

so i go though the same steps again and the same thing happens...

please help..so i can play BFE again 2nite!

You have gone to www.evenbalance.com and you have clicked the cod4 link which then in turn takes you to the cod4 section then youve clicked on software updates the download link and youve downloaded bothe the security files and the latest client files and placed them in your cod4 pb folder im i correct so far or if youve not done this then that is what you need to do

I had this same error before on a public server....tbh it only happened on one particular server, I came out went and elsewhere and all was fine. I don't go there now and it's ok. I know it doesn't actually help you with your error but can you get in random servers without this error?

Are you on XP or Vista?

Basically, right click this link and "save target as" into CoD4\pb\ folder

Then, right click and "save target as" again for both these links and save to CoD4\pb\htm folder

Restart computer (usually helps) and once you've loaded your PC up again - open Task Manager (Ctl+Alt+Del) then check to make sure "PnkBstrA.exe" and "PnkBstrB.exe" are running... then try connecting to a server

Also try these commands:

\pb_security 0

<i>"1) Punkbuster Sleep setting \pb_sleep 500 (tells punkbuster client software to wait longer before awakening and sending info to PB)
\pb_writecfg (makes the above setting permanent so you don’t have to do it each time you log in)
- The above changes the frequency that your PC reports to the server and thus reduced frequency of network spikes and the associated latency.

- This setting helps smooth out data transfer and should help if you have a cable or other high speed connection.

Should be sorted then, if not then you'll have to open ports on your router or firewall -_-

if updating doesnt work try deleting the PB folder, and reinstall it again using the cod4 dvd, then update with pbsetup
