Code-Authorisation / Server Time Out Problem

Hi, so I got Cod4 this morning. I have a small problem though. At first it ran fine and I was tuning gfx setting so it would run smoothly. Then I had to download a new patch (1.5).
Now, when I try to connect to a server it says "Waiting for Code-Authorisation" and then after a while "Connection to Server Has Timed Out"... anyone have a clue what I need to do. I reckon it might have something to do with my firewall but I set it up so Cod4 would work. It did at the beginning... I was able to play one round even with the 1.5 patch...

[EDIT]: Also, each time I get this error Xfire disconnects and sometimes my browser is unable to access the internet afterwards... weird. Also, every now and then my firewall settings for Punkbuster are reset, i.e. I have to allow its access again. I use Zonealarm btw.
I also changed the ---> /cl_connectionattempts 60

check in your control panel -> administritive tools -> services -> and makde sure pnkbstrA.exe is on automatic and is running, as for the zone alarm side of it,. its not a firewall i use so i will have to check out some more on that side of it for ya.
anyways , try that and ill look for more info

It seems to work from time to time now. PB(exe) was already set to automatic. It doesn't work always tho...

Server Time Out Problem

I had a problem with this last battle. i was able to connect to EU server #1 fine, but when i tried to connect to EU #2 i just kept getting timed out. i removed the BFE mod and tried again but it still didnt work... any1 any ideas why?

Still doesn't work properly. Tried to get onto servers for a while now. I get the following error in the console:

EXE_AWAITINGCDKEYAUTH
Resolving cod4master.activision.com
Couldn't resolve address

that seems wierd, the only thing i can say is check ure firewall and look for any entries that are blocking the adress and port 63.146.124.21:20810 as thats the adress of cod4master.activision.com. wierd how it does it every now and again, might be a case of your firewall detecting something that it thinks is a threat or an attack and therefore blocking your connection.
check your firewall and router port forwarding m8, let us know how you get on.

right i amazed nobody as suggested this its usually 1 of the 1st things u should try which is re-download patch and try again.

Also goto your task manager and change PnkBstrB.exe priorty to normal same with PnkBstrA.exe this should resolve any punkbuster conflics.
