problems with my mic

well the mic works perfectly until i start cod4 when apparently when my mic is no longer clear, i'm using a headset and not speakers

any ideas?

Did you check to see if there were any patches or drivers for your headset or sound card?

i have a similar problem but i think mine is caused by me sorta cookin my on board sound chip, are u using usb headset or plug into onboard sound type?

well it works well for cod2 but for cod4 apparently i make 'noise' and they can't hear what i'm saying

Go onto your options.
Then click Sound
Check if you have the sound on Default, or any other AFX setting.
Also, see if mic boost is enabled, might be that too when it opens COD4?

I have to alter my mic settings every time I go in and come out of game.
Ive had to do it ever since i started playing cod2, and nothing has changed
cant say iv really looked into getting a fix for it, have just got used to unmuting it every time i game

Make sure all your sound inputs are muted except for your microphone in your sound options. It could be that your outbound sounds are being fed back in as in input along with your microphone.
