Lost All Experience!!!!

ok, as im sure u have either heard of , or more unfortunatly, had happen to you, there is an occaisional bug in cod4 where you lose all of your gained experience and challenges , along with any weapons and attachments that you may have had.
now , after messing around with cod4 radiant i loaded up my game to play a few and i got file corrupt error, stats reset message.
yeah, very nice !!!!!
so i decided not to go any further as it was night anyways, and decided to sleep on it.
luckily when i woke in the morning i sorta remembered copying my hole cod4 folder to another drive during my map making install, so after messing around with the files , i found the file you want to make a backup of is
C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\players\profiles\<player name>\mpdata
after copying this back to my installation and starting my game up , all was back!!!!
So my advice to you all, if you are level 55 ish and you dont want to go through all that again, then back up that file now!
if you dont and it happens to you , i bet you will wish you did!!!
(if it already has happened and you havnt got a backup, contact me and ill send u mine!)

Or do what i have done and copied all the player data on to a flash stick and just up date it if you get further in the game

yes i lost every thing, i host a server and play on my server and other server's.
i played one night, turn off the game and went to sheep. next day turned on
the game and said: i have been reset... i was up to 43 promots. me not happy.
i am from hawaii, usa. but i now live and host from shizuoka city, japan.

(Off topic) What's your ping to the European servers over there? You to the US must be in the 200s+ Lordy, that's a helluva distance.

But I will do so PCDoc, I will. Good thing BFE uses a mod that allows all weapons independent of rank.

Just watch tinfoil IW will make it so you cant have all the unlock no matter what rank in a mod. Kinda what EA/DICE did with BF series. Sadly the only thing you can do is just get it all over again.

Under the Vista OS it is located instead at:

No prob - I didn't mean for that to come off crappy. I appreciate you posting the info about the issue, so I have my whole directory now nicely stored away on another PC on my LAN. I went looking for mine and found it was different, so anyone else that is suffering through Vista knows where to look. Thanks again, Doc!
