Setup has detected that no version of COD 4 is installed

I get that message when trying to patch my COD4 to 1.4v.

Can anyone help me?? The game is installed, of course...

Hmm... try updating your game to 1.3 or 1.2 first. Then try updating to 1.4

is it pointed to the right directory?

basically...did you install to your program files folder?

IT was a problem I had on a server install the only way round was to reinstall COD4 for me, that I could find.

Okay it worked on my other computer, but still won't work on this one... doesn't matter though, I can play now.

sounds like the registry entries are not right or corrupt for the installation.
might be worth you deleting all related cod4 entries from your registry after uninstallation of cod4 then install again and try it
