headset grief!

much to my horror it appears that my headphone and mic sockets on my motherboard have failed!

as i cant be bothered to take it apart and check all the mb connections i wonder if anyone knows any good usb headsets/mics?

any help is appreciated!!

I do but you might laugh the old ps2 game socom navyseals head set is what i use and it is quite cheap in the shops

i have a 5.1 card, but no mic/hf sockets on that, just the ones on front panel wired to mb...

Erm, is it really that far from the back of your computer to your head? In any case, you're focked; my case's front I/O audio ports don't work at all. Go get a USB Headset or something of that nature.

What do you guys do? Like unplug plug, unplug plug, and so on? I have 2 sound cards and sounds ports in the front of my computer, none of which are broken or not working...lol

Why dont you just buy Socket to USB adaptor? Cheaper than buying a new headset.

Got like 2 of them lying around somewhere, that i never use, cause i use socket for my surround sound, then plug my headset into that when im on TS, or whatever.

Eheh. I didn't notice that. >_>

Anyway, get a circumaural headset from a Reputable/famous company like Logitech, eD, Sennheiser, etc. A 35 dollar budget will put you in a good position for choosing. Just don't get the Logitech 250, the sides of the headset snap like twigs. Yay expanding epoxy glue? :P

I have a nice Plantronics usb headset. They are the full padded style that cover your whole ear. Love it and wasn't too much money. Fits my fat head marvelously.

hmm. never thoughgt about an adaptor... have to check that...

and avoid logitech look at plantronics :) cheers folks!
