    my pc..

when ever i turn my pc on, it just shuts down practically 1 second later, it cant be a overheating prob coz i aint touched it all night...

any ideas? i can only think of it being either Motherboard Prob or... well thats all i think it can be..

    anyone help me plzzzzzzz =)

    MotherBoard - ASUS M2N4-SLI
    Gcard - GeForce 8600 GT
Ram - 2xstick of 512, some cheat ass brand.
harddrive - 250gig SATA, and 80gig IDE but that has nothing at all on it, not even windows.

you could try taking out one component at a time, and then switching it with an older (from another pc), to see which component might be damaged.

i know it sounds stupid, but is the power button stuck? some cases aren't build perfectly (bad button springs) and it'll think your holding the power button down.

check that the heatsink is properly on top of your cpu, also that the memory etc is plugged in properly.
i would try switching it on with all your drives unplugged and only one stick of memory in.
does it make any beeps or anything when u turn it on for the second or so its on?

You probley reset your bios cause what you described sounds like a jumper. I've had similar problems when trying to OC my processor.

yes, the 'bit of lego' came from the PSU
