Windows starts fine.
Click on my profile, takes AGES to get onto desktop(didnt use to)
And then when it eventually gets on desktop it has like 5 errors
Cod4 - i cant change the GFX no more, it says Direct X error even with anything bar tht turned off
When i load any game now my comp just restarts :/

Maybe it's a crapped up defrag (they happen when you write a lot and defrag a disc at the same time) or a driver issue.

More info needed, like what you changed in the recent past on your computer.

Well its only a month old
the loggin on thing started about a week ago - the system restore thing says software distribution
and then the cod4 crashing i spose happened sat, cos i didnt play it at all sat or sun and the only thing i did was install the patch friday, but its not just cod4 its all my games

The cod4 crashing could be because you cannot change your gfx while xfire and/or msn is running. Turn those off and try again. What patch did you install Friday?

Best bet is back up anything youve done in the past week and then do a system restore to a week ago

Doesn't it give maybe an error like 'Not able to find MSIMG32.DLL'? Cuz I had like, the same problems like you, only I was able to play, but couldn't use Xfire, msn, norton, internet explorer...

im taking it to repair store tomoz and icker i tried tht didnt work..wouldnt let me do a sytem restore
