Connection Timeout Problem????

As most of you that have tried the multiplayer side of cod4 will know when trying to connect to the servers , especially ones with higher pings, you will get a connection timed out error.
highly annoying but solvable!


go to your installation directory for your call of duty 4
usually C:\Program Files\Activision\Call of Duty 4 - Modern Warfare\
then into players\profile\and your name\
open up your config_mp.cfg file

add these lines to it

seta cl_connectionAttempts "60"
seta cl_connectTimeout "1500"

after that save and exit
start up your cod4 and play on whatever server you want.

i tried numerous servers now and have successfully connected to all, (even an australian one!!!)

Use wordpad

also mite be worth noting that when you open your config file it wont have the .cfg extention unless you go to tools -> folder options -> view -> and uncheck the box that says "hide extentions for known file types"

and yeah, as dan says ure wordpad or notepad, should have really said that in the first place , my bad!

Done this and it still dosent work plus i could get on the server on wednesday but not today (saturday) and im getting pissed off lol
