Ok im having some trouble playing some movies...They are in .avi format...I usually use VLC media player and it plays everything...So a couple of days ago i updated to 8.6 ATI drivers and they stopped working...I know they worked before so they are not corrupt but whenever i try to play them in VLC i get jst the audio and a black screen...So ive just now reverted back to 8.5 drivers and its the same problem..Can anyone help me out?

Ive tried WMP and it wont play..I know they arent corrupt as i have played them all before....Comment

Do you get any errors when trying to play it in WMP or VLC? Any way though, try downloading DivX and see if it works with that. If not, try the following:
Download AVICodec (http://www.free-codecs.com/download/avicodec.htm) to find out which codecs the video is using. Then download the codecs that it uses and try getting it to work then.Comment
