My FPS dips big time in a couple games (like UT3) when my processor hits 100% usage. An example would be getting 60 - 70FPS normally but then it going down to 20 - 25 FPS when my processor hits 100% usage. So are processors only a burden when they reach 100% usage? More powerful processors take more to hit 100% over weaker processors, right? And would heat cause a processor to hit 100% usage easier than if it were cooler?
I ask because I was just playing a round of IO karkand on BF2 and every few minutes or so my FPS would go from 50 - 80 to 25 - 30 and when I looked at task manager every few minutes my processor hit 100% usage for only a split second, which is how long the FPS drop would last. I've never had this before while playing BF2 and I'm thinking heat is the problem because right now the conditions in my house and outside are perfect for overheating. (my GPU is running at 6C degrees higher than usual).
