Help buying new AGP card!

Hey guys, I got reccommended to post here for some graphics card advice (because I know zero about graphics cards) so here I go:

These are the specs of my PC:
Intel Pentium 4 2.4GHz single core
2GB Ram
SoundMAX Digital Audio Card
Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2

What is a good AGP graphics card I can get for <150$ (I'm in Canada if that even matters)? I don't need the most cutting edge graphics card possible but anything better than the on-board intel card I have. I plan on playing Trackmania United at decent speeds.

I was looking at a Sapphire Radeon 2600 XT for $90 but I'm not sure if it's even worth the money as I searched around and found people are not so favourable of it.

Help a brother out :)

Well i know of two me thinks, which is the X1950 AGPs, and the 79 series nvidia, but will have to go look for them online though. Please excuse my lack of assisstance i am leaving for a new accommodation in a while so i wont be having teh internets for a week :O

Thats a great card for AGP, lol i did not know they had the 3 series in AGP format in the first place :s, i agree with Hawkers and Hellsent thats a good buy for waht your looking for enzo.

They dont eagle..They dont have the 3 series in AGP..just the hd3850..i thought anyways...

The HD 3850 would be nice but one thing you also need to remember, it is not an officially supported card. That and for what one costs (lowest I can find in Canada is just over $150), he would be far better off saving up and getting everything new, seeing as for the most part money spent on an AGP card is lost if/when he upgrades the rest of the computer.

Another thing to consider on a computer that old is whether the power supply is up to running a 3850, can probably say the same for a X1950 Pro.

That being said I did find one place that still claims to have the 1950 Pro in stock,

Another option is to go lower and look at something like the 1650 Pro,

costs less than the 1950 Pro, lower power requirements, should play the game you're looking at reasonably, and a whole lot better than the Intel onboard.

He's had this computer for a while and won't be able to fully upgrade it for a long time.
