    Who wants a guides section?

I've been thinking lately that i've been taking apart all my hardware, modding PSU's and just generally cleaning stuff. I take pictures because i like to and was thinking why don't we have a subforum where people can write small guides about the stuff they do?

Guides could range from cleaning your CPU to fully blown Vmods on graphics cards. If you do it, take pics and explain. They don't have to be long but it's to learn from others and might get this area moving a little more. See it as a tech version of the "tips 'n tricks" section in the game areas.

It's worth a go and if it doesn't seem successful the sub-forum can be turned off.

Who thinks we should have one?

YES!!! I was a member of a honda/acura forum that had a "do it yourself" sub forum. It was possibly the most useful forum I have ever seen. I don't know why I didn't think of that for this forum.

Ill try one at cable management...I can only get pics with my phone..But i will make them 800x600 so they are reasonable big but not too big to have everything blurry...I might also give a little guide on reseating HSF..since alot of people dont know different ways in which to apply the thermal paste..Great idea Alex...

k, but only if the guides are moderated so one person doesnt get 3000 others pouring water on their cpus to cool them down.

I think that shouldn't be a problem. The purpose of a forum is to discuss so everyone will be free to comment any of these guides and correct mistakes or ad their ideas.

Sure, keep the main forum for help issues and have a guides/tips and tricks section like the game forums.

Also a hardware reviews section could be good or a listing of reccomended kit a la CPC. :)

It's a sensational idea, Alex. We could have overclocking guides, cleaning your PC guides, installing hardware guides, removing virus guides, etc.

I see absolutely no reason why not to try it. Only positives. Just make sure guides are reviewed for validity and clarity before being posted.
