Hopefully this will drive prices down in the long run...

Yeah, although Intel prices are damn low anyway. They are in a price war with AMD. I wouldn't be surprised if the lower end Intel chips were sold as loss leaders to outdo AMD. We all know Intel use sneaky and illegal anti-competitive marketing tactics.

I'm not really sure if it would end in win or fail.

Most likely win if the prices are low Makes other CPU's cheaper too.

              Looks like troubled waters ahead...

Intel and Nvidia headed for licensing stand-off

This started out as a rumor today, but Intel has since more-or-less confirmed that licensing discussions between Intel and Nvidia for Intel's next-generation processors are not going well and the resulting conflict could have implications for high-end gaming PCs.

Har har i know that nvidia mihgt be better but ATI is a much more mature copany than nvidia..nvidia is like a little 12 year old girl..very bitchy...

ATI/AMD get along very well with chipsets and crossfire and the likes...Even though they are rivals..

Are you saying AMD & ATI are rivals?

                  They are the same company?

Competition should be good, don't know about the whole Nehalem SLI thing though. Hopefully it ends up fine.

Competition is always a good thing, have to see how it pans out.
