    Might need some help :/

Hi everyone, look at this pic below for me please. I currently own a..

    DELL XPS 710
    Quad Core Q6600
    2GB RAM
    8800GTX
    320gb HardDrive
    Creative X-FI sound Blaster

Now, some may know, I bought that system because I was in need of a new PC quick and asap, life problems were getting in the way, and I could not build my own PC at that time, Now I miss that time, summer is here, and I want to mod my PC. *NOTE* I bought the XPS last AUG*

    This pic below shows the inside of my PC. Image may be hard to see;

The side of the case is not see through, which I want like I did on my old PC. So which means a new CASE. Now, my CPU is covered in that massive CPU heat sink that is labeled "XPS"

I have not tried to take it off as of yet. The 8800GTX is nice and will stay on the move to the new CASE. Now, I can just take out the CPU, GFX card, RAM, HDD, and put it into a new case. *DELL MOBO BLOW* But that CASE as such nice cooling, like a 250mm fan it think in the front and like 120mm in the back. But i miss the see through case, and custom lights and LED's.

    What should I do..?

Also, in that picture it shows 2 SLi GFX cards, I only have 1.

cut a square in the side of the case and screw in a thin plastic sheet. Install a cathode ray tube at the bottom of the case to light everything up.

You can't change the case; it's a BTX motherboard, so you can't really get a compatible case.

A big heatsink isn't bad, by any means. Mine is even bigger than that once.

I know this is a couple days old, oh well.

You can keep the GPU, CPU,PSU, RAM, HDD, and Optical drives.

Get a new case and motherboard.

Problem solved. The case can be whatever you want, which solves your "case doesn't look cool" issue.

He can change cases but he will have to mod the new one to make the BTX Mobo work... to be honest its best to just leave it in the one its in cause Dell made the case based on air flow and its needs. You could get away with some stick on heatsinks on various parts of the board and ram.. then you could add in speed adjustable 120mm or 80mm fans but that only makes more noise and thats not exactly the way to go.

To knock the idea of buying a Dell cause of how its made you just need to step back in a closed room.. light a cigar or cig and let the smoke run through it to see how the air flow travels in it.. its pretty neat how they made that design. Thats how I setup all my rigs with a air flow smoke test.. I want to see the air move and how it runs over the parts.

I think he's aiming at buying a new motherboard along with a new case. Just my guess, since he said dell mobo's blow.

What makes it a BTX motherboard?

The easy way to tell is that the motherboard is on the left hand (Looking at the front) side of the case.
