    Need a new router

I would quite like a new router with wireless and wired connections that can also act as a wireless print server.

My current router is a Belkin so i'd quite like to stick with them as i know their software inside out, and that is useful for me when setting up port forwarding etc...

I know nothing about Routers so could someone suggest me a relatively cheap one that meets those specifications.

    The devices connected will be:

    1 x Vista PC (LAN)
1 x Linux Ubuntu Laptop (WLAN)
1 x Windows XP Laptop (WLAN)
1 x Windows XP PC (LAN)
1 x Windows XP PC (WLAN)
    1 x Epson Stylus Photo 830 (USB)
    Possibly other devices.

    Cheers :)

Nah, this is for my house :)

Oh, and i decided to get a simple wireless print server instead of a whole new server. I was looking at this:

Discover our full range of printer servers including Lexmark & HP all at great prices with fast delivery

But, will i be able to print wirelessly with that? It doesn't have it's own wireless features, but it plugs into my current wireless router.

Linksys has been on a steady decline in quality since Cisco bought them. Their WRT54GS is still a decent wireless G router (I have one), but most of their new products are crap.

                DGL-4300 FTW! :yay:

There's also the upgraded wireless N version, the DGL-4500 - A bit out of most users' price range, but one of the best consumer based routers you can buy.

Dlink is gaining quite a good reputation these days.

I don't know anything about that.

The best I could come up with were:

                D-Link WBR-1310 - http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=474
                D-Link DIR-615 - http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=565
                D-Link WBR-2310 - http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=470
                D-Link DIR-625 - http://www.dlink.com/products/?pid=501

and of course the next up in hierarchy are the not so cheap Dlink DGL-4300, and the higher models following it.

I wouldn't know where to look for UK pricing/shopping, you're on your own there.

I guess with either of those connected to a router you'll be set.

BTW, Alex, are you still leaning heavily towards Belkin?

Not anymore, but that is because i decided against getting a whole new router, and instead get a single print server such as the ones shown above. That way they can connect between my router and printer and cost a lot less.

I've gotten pretty close to selling my DGL-4300 and grabbing up a 4500 cause of the different features.

I wanted to get one a few months back but still can't afford it.

I'm sure I can still get about 100$ out of the 4300 I have, still have the original box..throw a few more bucks to it and i'm all set
