Intel codenames

Is there any way to find out the codename of a Intel processor? I know CPU-Z can do it, but is there any other way without CPU-Z?

I have a Pentium D 2.8 ghz, device manager says x86_Family_15_Model_4 that's all I know, and I'm wondering if it's the 90nm or 65 nm version. It came from Dell so I don't have a box to look at.

Yep Just get CPUZ.

If you read up on a few hardware sites about the new CPU's that will be released and what's popular in the market right now you could stay current on things. But if you don't know about an older CPU then using CPUZ is the easiest way.

Smithfield is 90nm
Presler is 65nm

Use CPU-Z. PD 915/920 is 65nm. PD 820 is 90nm.

It was the 65nm. I used device manager a found "PDCAP_D0_SUPPORTED" and put DO into the filters.

And guys, I knew CPU-Z could find it, I didn't feel like downloading it since there's really no point on a Dell. :)

its a easy search with that finder site.. even google would pull up results.
