OK, in due course I'll be getting the new PC that I've been crying out for for the last 18 months, and I intend to stick it in my room. However, I need some advice on what the best networking method is for it. Wired is out of the question due to the design of my house (fitted carpets, no direct in-wall route etc), so the choice is wireless or homeplug.
For wireless, I would be using 802.11n, probably the Linksys Wireless-N ADSL 2+ gateway, while for homeplug I would use a pair of 200MbPS adapters and a basic BT router.
How reliable is wireless likely to be; it will be over a distance of roughly 15m, going upstairs and wit 2 or 3 intervening walls in between. Will homeplug be any faster or more reliable?
