Yeah, I was wondering about their next card aswell. I found a Nice article on Toms Hardware http://www.tomshardware.com/news/Nvi...orce,5441.html

I was thinking of going for an ATi 4 Series card later this year, but we'll see which one turns out a better buy.

Oh and the cooler is different on the 9600 GSO, other than that it's the exact spec as the 8800 GS.

Um... have you been living under a rock?

They release new drivers every few weeks to fix problems. Their driver support is some of the best on the market.

Are you getting mixed up with ATI, because they used to have shoddy drivers.

I think you're the one who's getting mixed up, Alex. Nvidia's latest release is the 13th of May, however their previous official driver release was in December, and the few beta drivers that were released in the time between did not fix some of the issues that were stated to have been fixed.

ATi releases a catalyst driver every month. They also fix the issues that are stated to be fixed in the release. Their drivers have never been shoddy in the time that I have used ATi, and that's been 5+ years. The catalyst drivers don't nag the hard drive as much as Nvidia's do. I've also had alot less problems with Vista using a Radeon.

I've used both Nvidia and ATi many many times each, and I usually buy whatever card is the best value for my money, But here's why I'm probably going for an ATi card this year:

Pwned doesn't even begin to describe it. It's more like 'You FAIL'

Those drivers only for the 9 series cards and the new lower end 8 series (8300, 8200, 8100), and DO NOT support any of the pre-existing cards. They will only install if you have a one of those cards. These drivers don't represent a full GeForce listing driver release. A lot of people aren't even aware they exist because, appropriately, they are not shown unless you select a card that it supports.

Now, tell me if you don't see a clear difference between these 2 driver release highlights:

But technically there's still a driver released every month except for january. Plus, there has been a beta release for the 8 series every month. The beta releases always worked without problems for me. Also, the drivers that you said are unsupported for the 8 series actually DO support them in their BETA stage, so why wouldn't the WHQL work? An example is the 174.74

And maybe the 169.25 from december were just so good that they didn't need an upgrade until newer cards came out? :p

Why would you even ask that? That's the way the driver is coded, therefore that's only what the driver supports. And most people won't use, or aren't aware of beta drivers, so they're not as significant as a WHQL release.

I rarely heard complaints about any drivers. And the only ones I ever had problems with were the 174.74, but it was fixed in the 175.16.

And yes, I'd say most are aware of beta drivers. On most gaming forums I go on there's topics made most of the time saying something like "New beta drivers out, come take a look!"

Just click on 'Download Drivers.' The rest is self explanatory.

I know that, but I searched the no signal issue in google and it came up with a few results, but not as many as I had expected after you mentioned it. More people said the drivers work fine for them as opposed to having to go back to the last release to avoid the problem.
