    Motherboard CPU help..

Hey there just need the final say, as i dont really trust Emachines tech support(yeah its emachines what do i expect right?).

I AM upgrading my CPU, i have an emachines w3502, with a Intel Celeron 3.2ghz cpu. I was told my motherboard cannot utilize anything above 2.2ghz. I can do the dual core, so hows about this?

We’re sorry, but this page does not existing. Please visit our home page for more information.

That should do the trick right? Right socket LGA 775, compatible?

    Thanks in advance!

That should work. The eMachines W3502 is listed as having a 'Radeon Xpress 200 for Intel' chipset.

The Radeon Xpress 200 for Intel chipset lists compatability for Core 2 Duo in general, so it's possible you may need a BIOS update. If that's the case you'll need to find the make and model of your motherboard first as I could not retrieve the info online.

Thanks man, and yes, Emachines info is very vague, yet there is a bios update available for the w3502 on the emachines website. I believe my version is an RS400 NorthBridge(Intel edition), as compared to the SB400 SouthBridge(AMD?). It doesnt look like my mobo really......so um, guess we'll see when the good ol' processor gets here!
