8800GT requires 400w with 22 amps on the +12V. I think I'll swap it with my Corsiar VX450 450w, that has 33 amps on the +12V.
I guess I learned my lesson, don't buy PSUs on wattage alone.
True Story: The PSU on my server went out couple weeks ago, so I went to Frys Electronics and picked up a BFG 650 watt because it was cheaper than the other ones. That would have been fine since my server is just that (a server, no high end video card or anything crazy), but the damned thing was DOA! The guy at customer service was like "It's testing OK." I told him to actually put it under a load with PC components. He wouldn't do it but I was able to return it in exchange for a Corsair 450vx which is running beautifully:yay:Comment

I have an aftermarket fan on my 8800GT and its at 46C right now and doesn't go over like 55 while gaming. 90C is crazy.Comment

Why don't you use RivaTuner to monitor your card, and as the temperature goes higher, set your rivatuner to make fan run 80% or 100%? Just a suggestion, message me if you need help.Comment

The last thing you wanna do is increase the fan speed on a card... the fans are designed to do a certain speed and thats it based upon its use..then you also get a increase in noise which for a gamer that requires silence even through a headset.. no noise or very little is a must!Originally posted by Sliver View Post
