E8400 or should i stick with the 6750 for now?!

Hiya guys,

Well the techies over at CCL sent me a notification about the E8400, right know its not in my great interest to shell out 140quid but if it is worht it than the e6750 right now that i have than i cant get it, just wanted to hear your thoughts on this. (btw a friend of mines has a E84 and i am usually at his place i tried it out a few times its quite good).

Keep your E6750 until you really have to upgrade, then get a nice Quaddy.

Overclock it if you haven't done so already.

Unless you wanna hit 4.0GHz on a nice Overclock, Stick with the E6750. There's only a 340MHz difference from the stock speeds and a slight OC on the E6750 can easily compensate for that.

).(! wow that just saved me 140 quid thank you guys, yeah i am willing to perform an OC on the procs although not to 4.0 :P i am afraid of stability.

If you guys can help me i would be greatly happy! i would like a mere 0.034MHZ to take my 2.66GHZ to a full 3.0GHZ, now i know that is rather possible on my cooling, which is the following:

Antec 900 Case, equipped with 4x 120mm fans, one 200mm fan, and the AC7 pro for the procs cooling and heatsink.

so any help with the OC'ing would be greatly appreciated as well as i will have to update my bios and don't have the slightest tick in my head on how to do that, so pls help me perform a sucessful OC and Bios Update.

Worries: My system will run stable right, i mean this is a mere OC not a huge one, as well as heat is not going to be a prob correct? (cheers, it is just that i am afraid as it is a new rig). Thanx every1 and for who is willing to help

You can get 3.4ghz on air with that CPU.

There's a difference between the numbers that say theres a difference and the actual performances. Technically one is better, but I would never be able to tell the difference myself.

Thnx, thnx a lot for the support you guys really saved a load of money for me guys, i guess i have been tricked by the numbers lol what was i thinking i was very close to losing 140 quid on a procs and that will not make the slightest difference lol thnx a million guys TGN \oo/
