Hard disk problems? (not bf2 related but help please!!!)

I know this is for bf2 problems but i didnt know where else to get help from.. so i hop you guys know something about this...

okay, so i was watching a recently downloaded movie on my computer and i was downloading another torrent at the same time. The movie just froze and i heard a little beep. I ignored it and went to the bathroom and when i came back my computer had restarted and the hard drive (i think..) was making weird noises like beeps and click combined. My computer is relatively new (about 4-5 months) and i dont think my HD would be dying??

please help, what should i do?

If you were downloading an illegal movie it may have had a virus attached to it that does something to your hardware or edits your bios firmware to read hard drives incorrectly or wrote bad sectors to the front and end of your harddisks. If this is the case rerun the latest bios update from your manufacturer and run chkdisk.

If it is truly a hardware problem, I would recommend putting a new drive in then moving the data from the older drive to the newer drive. Then running a chkdsk /f after deleting all the data from the old drive.

There are also some corrupt files that can make your drive unusable or very slow until it is deleted.

If the drive is making noise clicking, high pitch etc...its failing or failed.... Backup stuff now and RMA the drive or contact the system builder for a Warranty replacement.

Keep in mind that even though the computer is only a few months old..its like driving a car off the lot and next day it breaks down.... it happens.

HDD's and Fans are the only moving parts in computers unless your using a SSD.
