How could it cause a fire? Overheating? That's the only way I could think of... Where could I get a grommet? I only have 2 wires running, one for amp, and one for the sub amp.

the cable getting rubbed against metal can cause a ark and a fire yes... grommets can be found at auto parts stores.


Also best to have a small fire extinguisher handy in the vehicle with a setup like this.

Cable getting rubbed against metal? I stuck it through a piece of thick (.25-.5") piece of rubber?

Edit: I'd rather my car burn burn burn for how much the BlueBook is and how much we owe :/

I'm not a certified audio technician, but I do have experience putting subs and speakers in my car.

I went with two 10 inch subs hooked up to a 2 channel amp, and had a seperate 4 channel amp for my speakers. It works great for me, and I'm pretty sure it's a good way to hook it up.

I'm not a certified audio technician, but I do have experience putting subs and speakers in my car.

I went with two 10 inch subs hooked up to a 2 channel amp, and had a seperate 4 channel amp for my speakers. It works great for me, and I'm pretty sure it's a good way to hook it up.

I was looking into hooking it up that way, with 2 amps. But... amps are expensive =/...

You're going to have to spend money to get your car to sound good

I'd reccomend 2 12's in a box pre-made, just pick it up at bestbuy, and while you're there, pick up 2 mono amps.

That's pretty expensive for only 300W per sub and without a box... I can get 12" RF subs on eBay for like $40...

becareful with doing that..you get what you pay for and you might not get a warranty from the seller or RF cause of the seller on ebay not being a certified reseller of RF components.

When ever I buy anything off eBay that has a good chance of being damaged or getting damaged I make sure it comes with at least a 1 year warranty and is new in box. Thanks for letting me know though.
