    Xbox problem

(The original xbox, not the 360)

I went to turn my xbox on today, but nothing happened. So I inspected the power cable for a bit and it turns out the cable is dead. It's kinda new. I got it from the recall they did in 2005, so it's the one with the little box at the end. When I press the "Reset" button (on the little box) while it's plugged in to an outlet, it flashes red 2 times and then the button pops out again. It does this even when it's not connected to the xbox, so that's how I know it's the cable.

It says on it to call (800) 4MY-XBOX if the red flashing occurs, but I called the number and it says it's no longer in service.

Has this happened to anyone else? How can I get this replaced if the support number is gone?

Don't you have the power original cable?
Anyway I can see that EBGames (in the US) sells a second hand XBOX for $60, so that is one way of getting hold of one.

No, I don't have the original since we had to send it to them in order to get the replacement.

I don't need another xbox, and considering I could have gotten a simple free replacement if the phone number worked, $60 is quite a bit. If a new cable was like $5 or $10 at best buy or something, then fair enough. But I was there like 2 weeks ago getting a camera and checked out the video games section and there's no xbox anymore! Just 360, PS3 and wii
