Set Priority

HELP!!! i set my priority on a game to "Realtime" and the computer hangs and i have to manually restart it, after that i tried playing a game and the CPU Usage was like 100% and i check on all the games i played and it's all the same, someones i get "freeze" in the game, please help me, i don't know how to fix it back, i tried setting it back to normal but it already set to normal itself :cry::shock::dead:

What CPU? If it's a AMDx2 939 you'll need the patch, not sure if you need it for their new ones.

i got 1.7gb RAM and i'am using AMD Athlon 64...i think i just screwed up my system, please help me fix it back

You never need to change any application to anything except normal on your client machine.

If your running a server you might need to set TF2 and a few others affinities but never need to change their priorities unless your compressing something and want to work while it's compressing and it's taking up all of your system resources or if it's not compressing fast enough then you can increase it's priority.

Start your computer in safe mode an launch the game, you should get an error telling you can't play it in safe mode. While this error message appears go into your task manager and attempt to change the priority back to normal.

type into run "msconfig"

Go to the "boot" tab

Tick "safe boot" (minimal)

Restart


To turn off safe mode, load up and then untick the "safe boot" box and restart.

ok i done the safe mode part but when i attempt to change the game priority it's already back to normal by itself, like when i change a game's priority to low and re-open the game again, it will go back to normal by default

so what should i do now? go into safe mode again and try changing priority to low and back to normal again?

Im sorry but we dont have the answers to every problem..try surfing some other Tech forums..They may be able to help you more..Try overclock.net and places like that...

Try reinstalling the game, this should erase any settings stored for BF2142.

actually all of the games i played is affected, does re-arranging my RAM do any good? right now it's 256 / 512 / 512 / 512

Well, that won't be running in dual channel mode. You must have matching sticks in DIMM 1 & 3 and DIMM 2 & 4
