    Ram

I want to add an extra gig of RAM to make it a total of three as it says on my sig, i have this type of RAM:

Except that the on-ECC unbuffered 4-4-4-12, is 5-5-5- something, i mean is it fine to get different buffer rates?

And does it have to be the same brand? i.e. same model as well? Thnx guys.

    Re: Ram

Having different CAS latencies is probably a bad idea.

(heh, $65 USD for 2 gigs, the Fry's near my house sells the exact same RAM for $20-30 :p)

      Re: Ram

You can manually set them to the same CAS latencies very easily. But, obviously, you'd have to set the 4-4-4-12 to 5-5-5-15 and not the other way round.

          Re: Ram

Why not get 2 x 1gb sticks to make 4gb total? I got 2gb for £35 on Overclockers. IT was good Geil stuff as well.

Is it alright if i match that up with my Corsair XMS2, they look totally different in style as the ones i have are with purple colored heat spreaders.

Finally found the ones i operate, the only difference is the heat spreaders and my buffer rate is 5-5-5-12 whilst the other XMS2 DHX is 5-5-5-18 halp any1?
