I guess I will have to go get a nice drive for XP machine to play my legacy games .
Then load up SP3, it's been sitting on my desktop for 3 weeks now (Thank You Microsoft) along with other products I would have no use for at home like Commerce Server 2007 Enterprise Edition but it's free for me direct from Microsoft for production use so I am not complaining . More learning for me.

I just need to go buy the drives and get XP reinstalled, it's been years since I have used XP at home. I have been running Linux and Vista, which I haven't had any problems, but I want to play my older games so installing XP is a must, as my old box still has an ATIX850 in it .

yeah 3311 is RC2 and not the full version.... I thought you downloaded the full from me?

I did lawlz, i uninstalled the Pre release version and installed the full from u.

hmm doesn't make sense....

Out of the about 30 i've installed that very same file its only showed Service pack 3

all the RC's showed those previous number like you've got

umm ok.. well I was going to say ya could redownload it and re do it since I believe the RC's are time bombed anyway to expire at a certain point but maybe that changed after RC1. can't really remember.

Hey guys this will be the LAST service pack for OS WinXP am i right?

No one could answer that for sure, it depends on Microsoft and market pressure, and we all hope that market pressure stays behind XP, as I wouldn't piss on Vista if it was on fire, it's the most terrible peace of bloat ware ever.
