Intel price cuts

In a shocking price cut, Intel trimmed the price of the Q6700 Core 2 Quad processor in half, and trimmed the price of other processors by as much as 30 percent.

In all, Intel reduced the price of fourteen processors, ranging from the mainstream desktop to its Xeon line for servers. The company also introduced several new models.

Yeah but you do understand that the better of the chips mostly the Quad cores only got lowered by 2$ or so...

High-end model that will get reduced in price is the Core 2 Quad Q9550 at 2.83GHz and 12MB cache and it will get 2 dollars cheaper from its current $527 to $525. These are, of course, the wholesale prices. The very popular Core 2 Quad Q9450 at 2.66GHz and 12MB cache will drop from $319 to $317. The Core 2 Quad Q9300 at 2.5GHz and 6MB cache will drop from $270 to $268.

I mean OMG!!!! 2$ savings!!! I might be able to get a half/gallon of gas with those savings!! :thumbsup:

When they start dropping prices by 20-30% on the high end models I'll do the Toyota jump..till then they are only lowering what they want to move to make space for new additions which has been the norm here lately.
