Well my birthday is coming up and I'm looking into getting a new processor. My mobo has an AMD socket 939 processor spot thing, and right now I have a 3.4 ghz single core processor. So I was looking into upgrading to dual core processor in the $100 range. But here is where I find a problem, where ever I look once I go up past the +4200 everything goes up into the $250+ range. So I don't know if you guys look at different sites, but it would be really awesome if you guys could look around for me. By the way, the fastest AMD processor for my mobo is the +4800 2.4ghz dual core.

Well, here is the bad news... the 939 socket is just about dead. I am in a similar position as I am in need of an upgrade and have a 939 board. Unfortunately investing even $100 in your existing 939 build would be an exercise in futility. Save your money and invest in a new Core 2 Duo build or the new Spider platform by AMD. On the bright side DDR2 is uber cheap now and you can get a pretty decent Core 2 Duo for under 200. Just my $.02
