Windows media player

Can someone help me here? I have Vista and WMP 11 that I use on all of my media files. Last night I was going through some files, deleting some crap games I don't use etc. I also found out how to get rid of UAC (user account control) So I don't get asked whether or not I want to use something (Thank god). So, I get all done, boot down. Next morning I wake up and turn the computer on and none of my music files will play?I click on them, nothing. I click on WMP, nothing. It has the glowing blue circle for half a second but it won't open. I turned UAC back on and low and behold it works with UAC on, but not on? Can someone please tell me how to get WMP to work with UAC off?



Please don't recommend another program, I like WMP and am sticking to it.

Run system repair from your installation disc. As it's nearly impossible to uninstall/reinstall WMP11 to repair it.

I had that problem because of bad sound drivers, try to reinstall them.

Ok, found my answer,

1. Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 jscript.dll, and then click OK.
2. Click Start, click Run, type regsvr32 vbscript.dll, and then click OK.


All is well :)

Somehow you managed to un-register those DLL's with Vista! Good going lol :laugh:
