I've mentioned the best XP defrag, but for Vista just use the native that came with it and set to daily over night.

With SP1 it's now possible to select more than one drive to defrag them all at once.

I disagree with daily defragging. No drive usually has so many changes that it needs to be defragged daily. It just wear out disk a bit more. Weekly, even monthly would be much better.

I do every Sunday night a complete cleanup. CCleaner, Virus scanner and a complete defragmentation with my o&o software.

Its not going to wear a disk drive out LOL... if your scared it will then get one with a 5 year warranty and keep valuable data backed up. But a daily Defrag will not hurt a thing as for the operation of the drive besides being more efficient.

A daily defrag just means it doesn't take hours when you decide to do it on the weekend or overnight.

Oh yea, this computer my friend had that had not been defragmented at all in two years spent the whole night defragmenting. By the time I got up, it was still at it.
