Ok, as if we do not have enough of these threads already...In light of my recent un expected upgrade to a p5k deluxe mobo I am thinking of moving onto a new vid card. I am currently running a ati x1950 and was wondering do I get another x 1950 and run crossfire or do I go with nvidia and get an 8800? What do you guys think would be the best option as far as price/ performance goes?

Let the suggestions fly as I trust you guys more than any other group.

Hd3870's will be dropping in price this week..wait for them to drop...then consider that or the 9600gt or the 8800gt or anything basically in the 88 series..apart from GS..that aint too good...but it aint bad eiehter..lol im rambling on now..woooooooooot...kkthxbai

If I were you, I'd keep my eye on NCIX.com (if you're canadian) or NCIXUS.com (if you're american) because they're having some really good deals on the 9600GT and 8800GS.

Just an hour ago they were selling EVGA 8800GS for $108, but it seems the price went up a bit. You can still get an XFX 8800GS for $119. I, personally, bought a Galaxy 9600GT OC for $129 from them, but that deal ended today.

I don't think the 8800GS is worth it, compared to what you can get out of the 8800GT for a little as $160 (I think I just saw a good brand... can't remember which for that price!)

well if the gap in performance is big tomeis then yeah that 60 bucks is worth it :P i personally would go with a HD3870 or the X2 or in Nvidia the 88GTS (G92).
