RAM problem

I had Windows Vista Business 32bit installed when i put my new 2gb of RAM in my computer to make 4gb total. It showed up as 4gb when i right clicked on my computer.

Now, i installed 64bit Vista Business and it now shows 3gb in the BIOS, 3gb in Windows, yet 4x1024gb sticks in Lavalys Everest...

Why?

because microsoft phails at anything apart from conning people...

That didn't make no sense... he said BIOS shows the 3gigs as well not 4. Therefore it has nothing to do with Windows or Microsoft for starters... Reseat the Chips..also may wish to run memtest- testing each one on its own till you know there isn't a issue with any of the chips first.

Also consider a bios flash too if you haven't yet.

type in the search box mem and it should come up with memory diagnostics tool, run that to see if your ram is ok

Found the problem. I had to enable an option in the BIOS called "memory remapping".

Now shows 4gb properly

now see.... and someone thought it was Microsofts fault lol

Alot of people have issues with the modern bios settings ram settings,ATA settings etc.. very common.
