windows xp 64 quadcore?

ive done some googleing and now its time find out the truth i guess lol

anyone here run q66 or better intel chip on this os?

does it work?

reason being is this..i wana run my q66 quad on this os with 4gigs of ram..
im finding from reading that xp wont fully recognise 4 gigs its 3. something

bill 3 point something is not the full 4 gigs, it should support all of it were not talking about harddrives here and formatting space ...

Well... i dont own a quad core, but i do know that if you own a 64bit OS your cpu will work and it will utilize all 4gb of ram.

Im running XP-x64 on a E6600. (dual core) with 4gigs of ram.

The only issue I had is with an X-fi driver, to which they finally came out with an updated beta driver that fixed all the issues. MS still puts out XP-x64 auto-updates regularly, and I haven't had any problems finding any other drivers. HP even had an XP-x64 driver for my all-in-one printer.

i installed this on 64 bit system and it runs better...
am going to nab those p5k drivers quickly so i have them already downloaded ...

Best resort is to download all of your x64 drivers beforehand and put em on a jump drive. That way they're all in one place once u get booted up.

or if your like me and dont have a raid stripe then you will have mutipule hdd's..and i got one just for putting files on...this way u can just install them right off the drive...works the same as a jump drive..

You can't beat a good old RAID array for mutliple drives. Makes you feel warm and fuzzy inside!

My RAID0 and RAID1 is ftw.

yes yes raid and the headaches its caused all of it lol...
for me ..i dont use it ..it dosent effect my pc experience...when it does then i will..reason being ..im pretty sure i cant raid stripe my 2 drives togher one that is 750 gig and one that is 40 or something ...even if i can i dont have the time to burn 750 + gigs of information lol

I agree RAID was an absolute pain with XP. It wanted you to load 3rd party RAID drivers via floppy disk and all that, a right pain.

Vista has everything RAID needs already in place, so all you have to do is create a RAID in the controller software, and then install as normal.

My RAID0 setup is faster than a raptor on average, i'm not sure about burst speeds. I'll download HDtach later.

The RAID1 is an automated backup

like your general load times or fps with it and without it...
