This Sound Card?

A buddy of mine wants to sell me his Sound card for $50. I'm just wondering if it's a good deal? And if any of you have this card and would like to elaborate how it performs in games. (BF2, 2142, CSS, COD4)

Will this run BF2 in ultra with EAX etc..?

It's like the same thing as the X-Fi Xtreme Gamer, only a tad better in Game performance.

Yes it will run at Ultra sound settings in BF2. And yes its a good deal. I have the Audigy 2 ZS basically the predecessor and they're good stuff.

Going to use this card on Vista or XP?

If XP its worth it... if Vista its not as even with Alchemy you won't get the full operations of sound from the card. The driver support just isn't there.

If your looking for a good card for 50$ for use on Vista I'm sure we can point you in a better direction.

Get an XtremeMusic or XtremeGamer, the other versions aren't worth the extra money.

By the way, Vista sound quality absolutely rapes XP's. XP's Entertainment mode is (barely) comparable to Game Mode on Vista. Just set the default sample rate to 24-bit, 48KHz or more.

Of course, if there's a way to do that on XP then the tables will have turned.
