Hmm..this is a interesting problem. So do you remember what you may have changed prior to this problem starting? Load a different set of video drivers, install any other type of software? Tried cleaning out your Temp files and rebooting?

well, i recently got a completely new rig, but not a new hard drive. I left all the old data and such on there i am still using it. I uninstalled all old drivers and i think that might have been when it happened because i do not recall this happening before.. i upgraded from an ATI x1600 AGP video card to a Nvidia 7600 GS PciE video card. I am currently using ForceWare version 163.75
I will see if there is an update if their is i will download it and report back

i use CCleaner everyday to keep my old crappy hard drive running fast :p
so yes i have cleaned out temp files.

i updated to 169.21 and it still has this problem...
i've searched everywhere for someone that has this same problem, and it seems as if this has occurred to no one before, or they never spoke out about it. How could that be?

you might have a corrupt global normal.dot file. try this manual command line startup:

start > run: winword.exe /a

if that fixes it then shut down word/office and search your computer for: normal.dot
then delete or rename that file so office can create a new uncorrupted one. that file might be a hidden system file so you might have to un-hide those in windows folder options.

Um if you just reinstalled over your old data a format might be in order. Whenever you get mission critical new hardware a good clean install of Windows, although sometimes painful, is a good idea. Then again all you did was switch out a graphics card. As long as your drive install went smooth, no guarantees anything got left, that shouldn't be an issue. I'm still looking!

i hate reinstalling windows, its such a long and tedious process...
i did it like 10 times in 2007 alone....i memorized my cd key :p

Try opening it from another user account as it could be something corrupted in your current windows uer profile.
