hey, im thinking of building a new pc and i wasnt too sure were to start.

i would be spending about £500-£600, and i would like it if it could play cod4 on medium/high settings.

i know the budget isnt much but at the moment anything is better than my machine at the moment, as it is an old dell machine(no flames please), it just about runs cod4.

i would prefere if any sites that you give me links to be in the uk.

Edit: scinto its doable..I only spent just over 600 quid on my system which had to include everything..Monitor keyboard etc...

just need the tower unit, as i recently got a new mouse, and my moniter aint to bad. speakers i never use, i always use my headset, and i dont see the point in upgrading a keyboard, but if i do upgrade a keyboard ill go to pcworld as i was given a gift card of about £30

Kk your system is good..I tried maxing the budget..I had some specs for about 460 excluding os and whatnot but thought i would make it a bit better..


lol it really is incredible to se how much you got for your money in the PC industry and how much it evolves..About late december i got my sig rig and it cost more than this and compared..its kinda worse...

Power supply, 500W and free are not words that should go together.

The basic rule of building a computer is that you should never, ever, ever, ever, skimp on buying a PSU.

A crap unbranded or bad PSU has the power to not only break itself, but take the rest of your system with you as it sends a huge surge through every piece of hardware.

Seriously, unless it's a good, branded PSU, say no.

It's better to spend 50 bucks on a power supply than watch it explode and catch fire to your case. Trust me... Thermaltake, Corsair, OCZ, PC Power & Cooling are all good names.

i might aswell buy a new power supply then.

about the case you guys suggested, my mate had that exact case and he said it was good for keeping the componants cool, but 'hoovers up dust better than a dyson' and he had to clear it out everymonth. he also suggested i try http://www.ebuyer.com/product/140070 but im not too sure what do you guys think?
