    New Motherboard

Recently my system has decided that it doesn't want to boot up properly, most of the time it will fail to even start POST, avter turning it on and off a few time it finally comes to life. I checked a number of thing in the BIOS and checked to see that the new primary hard drive was ok to start up from a cold boot.

A few weeks ago my PSU decided to go bang, got a new one but think that the old PSU may have damaged the motherboard.

I currently have a ASUS M2N-SLI DELUXE motherboard looking for something with similar spec at £120 or less.

    Suggestions please?

A friend from overclockers suggests the MSI K9A2 Platinum AMD 790FX, which would you guys prefer out of this and the P5K Deluxe?

P5K, it can do the highest FSB out of any board, isn't bloated with stupid features.

It's custom PC's premium motherboard winner and an all round good board.

I currently have an AMD CPU. If im to upgrade both it will be one at a time, as the motherboard seems to be the main problem that shall be first :-o.

Yup, the MSI board is AM2. You won't get too far with that.

definitely go for a core 2 duo while your at it.

You can get a cheaper one and overclock it like crazy (assuming you have enough cooling too).
