    My PC (not happy)

For some reason I feel that my PC is not performing up to the standards of most games. In Call of duty 4, I get an average of 20-30 FPS in some maps such as overgrown, downpour, bloc, and countdown. I'm just very confused why my frames are so low. I also get similar FPS in TF2 and Bioshock. I have tried everything I can think of to fix it. But in contrast, it plays BF2, 2142, CSS just fine

    Specs:
    EVGA 590 SLI
    3 gigs DDR2
    amd athlon 64 X2 6400+
    8800 GTS 320mb
    X-Fi Xtreme Gamer

        I use a amd 5000+ X2 w/ a 8800GT 512mb, and am getting average 60-80fps.

Sniper, always make sure you're not running virus software when your playing. Also, CTRL/ALT/DEL and check what programs you're running, closing any unneccessarys.

Also, use the optimum options in games instead of assuming you can have everything on full.

                It's not the card i don't think

I have the 8800gts 320mb and play at 1680x1024, all high, 2x AA at between 40-70 fps. I did have to overclock the card in order to use AA.

There are my clocks if you want to try and OC yourself:

I would just ensure you have correct drivers, your hard disks are working in the correct modes and get an Intel chip.

                  Don't be trippin on AMD!

<- With my specs, I run CoD4 on all high 4x AA 1152*864 with around 90 FPS. And that is with my AV still running in the background.

It's a little odd that you only get 20-30 FPS in TF2 lol

Try to defrag or, if you're really desperate, a system restore. Worked for me before :)

Would it matter if I use the drivers from the CD that came with the card? I use the latest ones atm from Nvidia's website. Do you think I should use the ones from EVGA's site?

                      Same thing....

Use the latest off Nvidia's site, maybe sample some beta's

I'd stick with the official drivers and just tone down your settings.

don't listen to these folks...320mb is more than enough for today, my card is worse and i get 60 + FPS on COD4 on all high @12xx x 10xx something lol.

what resolution you run your things. Your video card ownz, you wont get much better right now.

he can get the 88GT which is much better. Plus the GT sells at a good price.
